Offset disc will cut and bury corn stocks better than a chisel plow. NOTE: large rocks will break the disc blades. Chisel plows will lift or pull up more rocks than an offset disc will.
Now, my DMI 9 shank coulter champ is a little bitty tinker toy behind the kitty kat. They either run at the set depth or trip - there is no inbetween.
